Description
Semax is a synthetic heptapeptide derived from the 4-10 fragment of adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH), modified with a C-terminal Pro-Gly-Pro sequence for extended proteolytic stability. Unlike the parent ACTH fragment, Semax lacks hormonal activity and has instead been studied for central nervous system effects, including upregulation of brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) expression and modulation of dopaminergic and serotonergic signaling. Preclinical research has examined its effects in models of cognitive performance, neuroprotection following ischemic injury, and attention-related signaling pathways. Supplied for in-vitro laboratory research only — not for human or veterinary use.
