Description

GHK-Cu is a naturally occurring copper-binding tripeptide (glycyl-L-histidyl-L-lysine) first isolated from human plasma, where its concentration declines significantly with age. Its principal studied mechanism involves high-affinity copper chelation that facilitates delivery of Cu2+ to extracellular matrix enzymes such as lysyl oxidase, supporting collagen and elastin crosslinking. Microarray research has additionally reported GHK-Cu modulating expression of genes associated with tissue remodeling, antioxidant response, and anti-inflammatory signaling.
